Pride Planning

The Artistic Director has already made plans for us to perform at the Stonewall Reception, June 23, 2011.  We'll also have a booth available for us to take turns snaring others into our musical trap.  Check back later.

NEW REHEARSAL start date:

NOTE:  The first rehearsal originally scheduled for March 9th had to be moved back a week due to technical difficulties.  We will hold rehearsals in the sanctuary of the MCC "King of Peace" church located on 5th Avenue North in St. Petersburg, starting March 16th.  The calendar has been updated.

Meet n' Greet

...was held at The Flamingo, 4601 34^th street South, 33711, on Saturday, February 26 from 3:00 to 5:00pm, in the 'Blue Room.  Why it is called the Blue Room with all that Red is beyond me.  Our thanks to all that attended this event.  We enjoyed discussing various topics, and are looking forward to that first rehearsal. 

Upcoming "Reading Sessions"

We have plans afoot to start 'Reading Sessions' at the Musical Director's home on Saturday mornings.  The course should take about 8 weeks.  Cost per person will be somewhere in the range of $40 - $50 for the eight weeks.  All proceeds will go to the chorus account.  (Hey!  We're starting off at square one again.  It takes the green stuff to be able to buy music, et cetera.  Not everything can be donated entirely by the Board.  Our thanks to Thom for making this possible.)

Our primary goal is to prepare / learn GALA repertoire.  Not to mention the creation of bonds between singers, and between singers and the Director.

GALA Leadership conference in Colorado

Within two days of everybody giving the thumb's up for standing the chorus back up, our musical director had plane tickets, hotel reservations, and registration completed for the 2011 Leadership Conference being held in Denver this coming January.  The GALA Leadership Conferences provide Directors, Officers, and Board Members with much of the information needed to sucessfully run the ship without going up on the rocks.  Of course, we have experience with 'the rocks' but are determined not to allow that to happen again.
